Wedding trends and more for 2020

Thanksgiving wedding ideas

Even though many couples around the globe had to kiss goodbye their wedding this year and make arrangements to postpone to another date, wedding trends kept going strong just like nothing ever happened. Many useful platforms kept us in tune and busy with what a wedding could have been and for those who are more fortunate to get married this year, this is what you can be inspired with.

Green…

Sustainable weddings are on the incline and we are all in for it. Up-cycling your wedding by committing to zero waste. A lighter version of this 2020 trend includes sourcing locally grown flowers and greens, going for a more organic food menu and away from processed bites, hiring vendors who also prioritise sustainability…we happen to know a few…

Shrinking lists

This is a wedding trend which probably goes down well with many. The trend is now to have more intimate weddings, think of a party of 50 or a bit less. If you can’t manage these number but you really wish to get there? Consider a destination wedding, consider the island of Malta! This without an effort will more likely reduce your numbers without having to feel sorry for those who won’t make it.

Menu options

As wedding planners, we are more aware of existing and upcoming allergies. Some are more trending then others and then there are the genuine cases which of course are the priority. Make sure you thick all the boxes. Vegetarian? yes we know about you. Vegan? of course no problem. Nut allergy? We got you covered. Be considerate of all your guests by offering a variety of cuisines and choices. Make sure your caterer covers all the points as it will make your guests feel important and incisive of your wedding.

Trending shades

You probably didn’t start your wedding planning with a colour in mind correct? Colour is one of our favourite trend this year. Expect to see neon…yep that metamorphosis is on, hot pinks are also making yet another debut as well as the mellow hues with earthy undertones.

Lighting

Although this is more of a repetitive trend, you cannot have poor lighting at you wedding. There are many possibilities and the options are endless. From hanging installations to tube lighting ad LED bars, free standing chandeliers which are still trending to the more romantic and subtle kick of warm white fairy lights.

Edible Florals

Whether it’s a refreshing cocktail or a nice salad for your wedding starter, edible floral are very much the thing. Adding these in either the frozen ice cubes or a sprinkle on top will add that something vibrant to your edible elements.
