It’s hard to believe that we lost one of the greatest people in our lifetime. As we barely approach a week from the sad news of your passing, I find myself looking back at all the amazing moments Ian Lang aka Langy gave us and feeling grateful for the time we had with him, your friendship your wise words especially when it came to family, we will carry with us forever. I can speak on behalf of Tiziana and the small team at Wed in Malta and honour a friend and a legend who has thought us a lot, gave us a lot to smile about and uplifted us with his music.
Rewinding back to the year 2017, the first time I spoke to Langy over the phone was somewhat strange, I had heard him many times on the radio before, so somehow I was prepared to expect a celebrity vibe to come across the other side, but instead humble as ever Ian was just his normal self, cheerful and bubbly confirming the details over the phone in the most relaxed way possible. I spend the next couple of days with him during a pre wedding event followed by Paula and Noor’s wedding in Malta on a cold February evening. We never looked back and Langy became our resident DJ and a very good friend from there on.
Receiving that terrible phone call last February was the hardest phone call ever received. Thinking back I wish my reaction was a different one, maybe a more positive one, but the truth is that I just couldn’t accept the fact that you wouldn’t be around in a few months from then.
Ian you will forever remain our legend, we will honour the promise made to you. Thank you for being part of our lives. Until we meet again dear friend, you will make some people happy up there.
Happy days!
