Toasts can be found worldwide in all the different languages. I wish you good health, happiness, wealth and cheer and I seal my good will with a drink, usually an alcoholic one. My brain makes funny convoluted links when I am writing, I was researching ‘Toasts’ in different languages when up popped a memory, one of cheap, sickly, sweet sparkling wine, which left an after taste of cough syrup. I can actually remember the taste if one may call it so. I can feel you wondering what I am going on about, so here it is.
Give your guests the best of what you can afford, personally I would much rather have a select choice of good wine, beer (especially during our hot season, Malta can get pretty toasty) and good quality Prosecco, sparkling wine or even champagne, rather than an open bar with imitation labels and cheaper wine. I suggest choosing carefully, prepare a budget and do try to stick to it, consider a paid bar for the persons who drink spirits and liquor. The drinks do not have to be expensive but they do have to be good quality. Look at all the options available and then choose what suits you and your budget best. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Do not worry, sit down with your wedding planner and voice your worries and concerns.
Salute, prost, cin cin, Skol, cheers
