With a fresher climate during these months, the number of weddings reduces drastically. However the reality is that many underestimate the beauty of Malta in the winter period.
6 points why weddings in Malta should be considered in winter
Being a few degrees below 25, makes being in a long and heavy gown a lot more bearable, not to mention the vast range of fabrics one can consider when planning a winter wedding.
Another plus is make up. We have a large number of very good and professional make up artists using the latest techniques for a long lasting make up hold. Being a rather warm and humid country this is always a challenge, however this problem is overcome in the colder and less humid months where make up stays put for the entire wedding, giving a fresh look all throughout.
Although flowers can be seasonal, most of the time we do manage to import particular flowers nearly all year round. Flowers in shoulder season maintain their natural hold for the entire wedding without having them droop.
Lets now mention the boys…. Our heroes who in the summer months would need to endure a lot of under-heath from the many layers that a wedding attire would call for. A 3 piece suit would be appropriate and makes a smart statement without sacrifice.
The venue – We do get mild winters, which means that going for an outdoor venue is still a possibility especially for afternoon weddings, be prepared and go for a venue which provides a back up, just in case it drizzles a little. Garden venues are very popular in Malta, and these venues are somewhat vibrant and scream colour during these months, brow shades are masked by deep greens and winter plants start giving us their flower debut.
Last point which should probably go on the very top is the winter discounts given during the less busy months, and this is for obvious reasons. Suppliers are happy to extend a discount but get work all year round, giving you the opportunity to spend the extra cash on something else you might have wished for…
